Why Use a Clothes Brush?

There is no way round it - washing or dry cleaning clothes slowly ruins them. This is frustrating, particularly if it's an expensive wool suit, or cashmere sweater.

Heavily soiled items must be washed, but for regular maintenance, a clothes brush can work wonders.

The natural bristles work with the fabric to effectively clean your clothes, by removing small dirt particles, hairs, lint and the realign the fibers of the weave.

How to Use a Clothes Brush - Quick Guide:

  • Lay your garment on a flat surface, or hold in front of you.
  • Use light, quick strokes.
  • Brush against the nap (direction in which the fibres run) to remove dirt, and finish by brushing with the nap all over to leave a regular, smooth finish.
  • Different fabrics require more care. E.g. Cashmere should be lightly brushed, and satin not at all.
  • A damp brush can be used to remove heavier stains.
  • Do this after every wear to keep your garments looking clean and to extend their lives.

Kent Brushes

Founded nearly 250 years ago, G B Kent & Sons Ltd. is a truly historical firm, mixing innovation and technology with traditional methods and designs.

The company stayed in the Kent family until the 1930s, when the last member passed away. Fortunately, control was taken over by fellow brush company Cosby, starting a new reign of continued success. It's still in the Cosby family to this day, and remains in England.
